This is the latest cake I made for friend's birthday instead of working on my GRE studies.
Seriously though, I wanted to, ever since she told me how she really wanted a pony cake, either Nightmare Moon or Rarity. Even though I had a very grand design for Rarity, which I would have loved to attempt, I went with Nightmare Moon because of time, money restrictions and the fact that she likes Nightmare Moon just a tad more.
The cake is a coffee flavored chocolate cake with a whipped raspberry butter-cream filling. The outside is a creamer flavored blue butter-cream covered in pearl dust. Everything else is made from Marshmallow fondant.
I could go on about all the flaws in this cake, the hell it gave me, and how many times I wanted to scream and throw it at the wall, but I won't. It came out pretty nice and the fact that my friend loved it is all that matters in the end.
